Extracurricular Activities

In addition to the statutory curriculum and our Marlborough College initiative the learners at Marlborough are given a wide range of additional and extra curricular opportunities. 

The school facilitates a number of peripatetic teachers who offer tuition for a range of musical instruments and accommodates before and after school and lunchtime clubs including football, tag-rugby, athletics, dance, martial arts, cookery among many others. Marlborough also offers extended school activities which run on after school, at weekends and during holiday periods these include dodge ball, Saturday and Summer Slam exercise and healthy life style sessions. 

In order to further enhance the curriculum children in all year groups are given opportunities to take part in trips and visits and special events or themed weeks such as healthy living week and receive visits from specialist agencies such as scientists, actors, members of the emergency services, artists and musicians.  

We also offer the children in Years 3 and 5 to undertake residential school journeys to the Isle of Wight and encourage learners to take on designated responsibilities which may include acting as play leaders, recycling monitors, mediators, mentors and energy conservers.
