Current Learning Focus
This half term, we are exploring the theme -Animal adventuresThe children will explore the animal kingdom and the world around them. They will learn about animals in different habitats—jungles, zoos, farms, cold climates—and dinosaurs, while also observing seasonal changes in winter. Through stories, songs, and rhymes, children will continue to develop their language, social skills, and understanding of the natural world.
Key Learning Areas:
- Personal, Social & Emotional Development: Independent dressing, small group play, exploring similarities and differences.
- Communication & Language: Following instructions, using prepositions, resilience in learning.
- Physical Development: Using trikes/bikes, one-handed tools, manipulating small objects.
- Expressive Arts & Design: Exploring textures, colours, and construction; music and dance.
- Understanding the World: Talking about animals, habitats, and seasonal changes.
- Mathematics: Subitising to 2, counting up to 3 objects.
- Literacy: Joining in with repeated refrains, book handling, singing nursery rhymes.
Enrichment Activities: Nursery concert, autumn walk, World Nursery Rhyme Week, and a visit from Santa.

Time: Between 9:00am to 5:30pm. Your allocated time need to be booked via SchoolCloud.
Place: Finney Room
Booking opens on Friday 24th October at 6pm via SchoolCloud.

Tapestry Learning Journal – Parent Consent
Tapestry is a secure online learning journal to share your child’s learning with you.
- See photos, videos, and notes from school.
- Upload your own photos/videos from home.
- Each child has a private account for approved family members only.
- All information is secure and follows strict data protection rules.
- At the end of Nursery you can download a PDF keepsake.
Please come along to the Tapestry Workshop on Thursday 23rd October, 9:00–9:20am, School Hall.
Please complete the consent form as soon as possible.
Belongings
Please ensure all your child’s belongings are clearly labelled with their name to avoid any loss.
Named Water Bottle
Please ensure your child brings a named water bottle into Nursery every day
Family Photo
Please send your child to school with a photo of their family to share with the class. This helps us build a warm and welcoming community.
Where to buy it and what to wear.
Please note: This is optional. Children attending the Nursery setting can wear the school uniform or their own clothes.
School milk is available for all pupils; children eligible for Free School Meals receive milk free but must still register online.
SCOPAY is our secure online system for school payments. Once your account is set up, you can easily select manage school-related transactions from home. You will receive a unique SCOPAY access code during your child’s first week of school. This code will allow you to create your SCOPAY account and register your child.
- A packed lunch must be provided from home for children attending Full Time Nursery. Please
ensure that no fizzy drinks, glass bottles, sweets or products containing nuts or sesame
seeds are in the packed lunch.

Key Information
Nursery Opening Hours
Full-Time Start - 30 hours - 8:45am to 3:30pm.
Part-Time Start - 15 hours - 8:45am to 11:45am
Wraparound Care – Marlborough Minders
Wraparound childcare is available before and after school.
- Morning Care: 7:45am – 8:45am
Please note that the Universal Free Breakfast Club is only available for children in Reception to Year 6. As a result, there are no subsidies for Nursery children, and the cost for morning care will be £6 per session. - Afternoon care: 3:30pm – 6:00pm
Spaces are limited, so we recommend joining the waiting list early. Booking details are available on our school website or from the school office.
