Meet the Governors (ID 1184)
Tina EstradaChair of Governors
I have been a Governor at Marlborough Primary since 2012, as I wanted to be involved in helping the school provide an effective and engaging learning environment with high standards and in which every child can reach their full potential.
My professional background is in law, and I am currently training in accounting
My 3 children all attended Marlborough Primary School. During their time there, I was a parent representative and an active member of the PTA which meant I got to know staff, pupils and parents and gained an insight into their views and concerns
Having lived in Isleworth for many years, I have an extensive knowledge of the local area and community.
In my spare time, I read, and I enjoy spending time with my children walking and cooking together.
Jack ButcherVice-Chair of Governors
I have one daughter in Y3 and another in Y1. When my children started at Marlborough, I became as involved as possible in school life, going on trips and coming in to hear children read. Since 2017, I have been a very active member of the PTA, undertaking a variety of roles from Vice Chair to quiz master, always working hard to ensure the success of every Event. My background is in IT and I currently work flexibly in digital advertising leaving plenty of time to continue to help out at school. I still manage to continue to pursue my hobby as a teacher and competitor in historical fencing. I relish the challenges involved in being a school governor and am committed to helping to ensure that the school continues to offer the best education for all the pupils.
Jerry FolksonLocal Authority Governor
I strongly support the inclusive Marlborough Experience in not only providing an enjoyable yet challenging high quality learning environment for all children-whatever their need, but also promoting positive values, social development, confidence, and responsibility. I initially became a Parent Governor in 2002 to help support the Marlborough ethos. After my daughter transferred to secondary school, I decided to become a Local Authority Governor to contribute my previous experience as a Governor to developing the strategy and ethos of the school to meet new challenges and expectations.
I have over 30 years' experience of Human Resources Management, Project Management and Change Management in the Civil Service and the University sectors.
I enjoy photography, hill walking, travel, theatre, and current affairs. I am also actively involved in my local resident's association alongside supporting local community issues such as planning applications and Neighbourhood Watch.
Andrew ListerCo-opted Governor, Chair of Finance and Premises Committee
Andrew Lister has been a governor at Marlborough since 2010. Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and is a partner at one of the big accounting firms. Andrew's principal role on the Governing Body is to review the financial position of the School and he oversees budgeting and financial control. Andrew is currently Chair of the Finance Committee.
Jo HealCo-opted Governor
I have been a governor since 2012, firstly as a parent governor and then was co-opted in 2015. Â I was Vice-Chair from 2015 until the end of 2021, I am the SEND governor and the chair of the pay committee.
I am an Office Manager in Westminster and previously was a Product Manager for over 10 years. I have three children all who enjoyed and thrived during their time at Marlborough Primary School.
I feel it is important that schools offer an equal opportunity to a high level of education to our pupils, whilst supporting their emotional needs and developing their life skills.
Nicole LewisCo-Opted Governor
I have been a governor at Marlborough Primary since 2012. Both my children attended the school and I started as a Parent Governor and am now a Co-Opted Governor. I am privileged to be a Governor contributing to the growth and development of the school and proud of the contribution the school makes to the wider community.
I am a strong advocate that every child is entitled to the very best standard of education, one that nurtures and develops children to be the best they can be.
My professional background is from within Public Sector.
Kate TurnerCo-opted Governor
I have been a Governor since 2014 and have enjoyed being part of the Governing Board as we take steps to support the local community and Marlborough Primary school.
I'm currently working for a local MP and throughout my professional career I have worked for several international organisations including Deputy Executive Director at United World Colleges (International) in London, responsible for ensuring that global operations and governance run smoothly. I have also worked for Save the Children, WaterAid and Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO).
Agata SikoraCo-opted Governor
I have been a co-opted governor at Marlborough Primary School since 2022. I aim to ensure that the school is the best environment for all to thrive and a hub for the local community.
As a Polish journalist and essayist holding PhD in cultural studies and specialisation in cultural animation, I firmly believe in public education as the key to creating a better society. Being a migrant, I face challenges that many school families share while trying to navigate the foreign education system. I have lived in Isleworth for seven years, and I love that wherever you are from, wherever your family lives, you can settle here and feel at home. I wish to use my knowledge, analytical skills and personal experience to identify the needs of the community and ensure that the school policies are inclusive and communicated in an easy-to-follow way.
I have two daughters: one is a pupil at Marlborough, and the other is a lively toddler. In my free time, I love reading and walking in nature (as a mother of young children I could as well write "riding dragons" as for now  "free time" sounds like a very unrealistic concept to me).
Michael HallParent Governor
My family and I moved to Isleworth three years ago. I have a daughter in year 2. I look forward to being an active member of the governing body and supporting the school and community in realising the shared vision. Having worked in educational leaderhsip in primary schools, I hope to be able to support the governance of the school with experience I have gained, whilst also providing a parental perspective.
Ranmali NawaratneParent Governor,
I have two children. My older son is currently in Year 1 at Marlborough and has very much enjoyed his time so far – both the learning and the fantastic outdoor space.
I have been a Parent Governor since May 2023. I took on the role as I am passionate about education and wanted to support the school in shaping its vision, implementing its strategy and ensuring good outcomes for all children.
My professional background is in the translation of medical research towards patient benefit and I work at a biomedical research institute in London.
Kam GillHead Teacher
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the school community. I have cherished every opportunity to pursue my personal goal to successfully embed excellent practice in teaching and learning. Part of my vision is to ensure that all staff take genuine responsibility towards the school and accept that they are accountable for its success. I am extremely proud and privileged to be able to play a key role in maintaining and developing the excellent reputation the school upholds. We have a highly committed team of governors and an enthusiastic, hardworking, dynamic group of staff. We all share a common vision and set of goals for the school's future. It is important to us that every child reaches their potential and this ideal is at the heart of the foundation of everything that we do. I have 15 years of experience in leading in primary education and I consider myself as a lifelong learner. I am a firm believer that in education you have to commit to developing yourself to stay abreast with new initiates and approaches to education.
Lucy WithanachiStaff Governor
I am a committed and enthusiastic teacher who believes in inspiring all pupils to reach their full potential whilst equipping them with the skills to be life-long learners for a successful future. I have been a class teacher at Marlborough Primary School since September 2017 and I am the Computing Subject Lead.
I applied for the role of Staff Governor to have an input in the school’s development and to positively impact both our school and the local community. I enjoy the opportunity this role brings in being able to share my experiences as a member of staff and to learn about the various roles and responsibilities within School Governance. With the experience I have gained working at Marlborough, I feel very privileged to support our school through being a Staff Governor.
