Packed Lunches

The menus for our school cooked lunches have been specifically created to ensure the correct balance of nutrients that match the Food Standard Agency guidelines. School lunches are very important as they provide pupils with the ‘fuel’ to help them learn during the afternoon and keep them going until their dinner at home. Packed lunches should reflect this balance. This is why we do not allow chocolate or sweets in our packed lunches because a lunch rich in sugar gives children a quick energy rush but this is followed by a large energy slump making it harder for them to learn.

Here is some advice from the Food Standards Agency.
